The closest connection to creativity and being in the present moment is when I’m playing music. When people come together to the sound and energy of music, I’m in my happy place.

For me, the physical dance begins with the dance of the heart. When the vibration of music makes its way into my body and inspires it to move. That’s when my heart is full.

I’ve been playing the guitar since I was 10 years old. Singing, writing, and playing music is part of my life force. It’s a significant part of my life, and the most powerful meditation I could practice. I thrive in the joy of sharing it with others.

There’s a longing in a place behind my heart. The place that is private, quiet, vulnerable. It’s a gentle but persistent urge to express myself. Music sets that urge free for me.

I’ve met others who relate to a private, vulnerable place behind their heart. A dream or longing that has possibly been silenced over the years for one reason or another.

If there is a fast track to freedom, it’s by revisiting this place and setting it free through expression and creativity. If you struggle in self-acceptance or artistic expression, a steady practise of self-love and simply creating something can launch you into a place of joy and wonder.
